This Privacy Policy explains how https://noursarah.com (“Nour Sarah”, “team”,  “we” or “us”) works, what pieces of information are collected and used about you, and why.

This Privacy Policy applies when you use our websites and other online services that link to this Privacy Policy (collectively, our “Services”), engage with us on social media, or otherwise interact with us.

We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. Nour Sarah, (Light of Sarah) named in honor and memory of Sarah Hegazi (1989-2020) is a collaborative initiative by Spectrum and LebMASH aiming to provide LGBTQIA+ people living in the NAWA region or those of NAWA region descent with the necessary tools and resources to support their mental health and well-being, using a trauma-informed and culturally/linguistically-appropriate approach. These tools and resources are offered free of charge, in Arabic, Persian, Pashto and Kurdish, and will be available online where they can be accessed securely. 

We adhere to the highest standards of ethical practices in all of our operations and are dedicated to protecting the privacy of all visitors to our Services. We don’t sell, barter, give away, rent, or permit anyone outside of our team, to access or use your information.


Collection of Information

Information you provide to us

All non-sensitive and non-personal information such as our correspondence with you, and submission forms on our website, we keep in a secure inbox used by team members. This information may include the name you provide to us.

Information we collect automatically when you interact with us

For users of our Services, we temporarily log standard technical information, such as cookies; the browser software you use, and your operating system. The information is kept primarily to assist NourSarah.com in diagnosing technical problems, defending against attacks on the site, and improving site services.


Use of Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Assess your situation and decide if we can be of any emotional support help to you 

  • Process and manage consultation sessions requests and send you related information, including confirmations and meeting links;

  • Respond to your comments and questions;

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our services;

  • Detect, investigate, and prevent security incidents and other malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity and protect the rights and property of https://noursarah.com and others;

  • Debug to identify and repair errors in our services;


Sharing of Information

We share personal information in the following circumstances or as otherwise described in this policy:

  • Content of all team meetings and documents shared with the team, are considered confidential  

  • All team members respect each others’ chosen names, and pronouns 

  • All team members have the right to use different names instead in their legal documents or the name they are known as

  • All team members have the right to participate in sessions without sharing their video

  • Team members do not share their location and other identifiable information with clients 

  • Team members shall conduct sessions and participate in meetings in safe, quiet and private spaces

  • Spectrum and LebMASH, and all team members, have the obligation of keeping all information of other members confidential


Analytics & Advertisement

We DON'T use analytic services such as Google Analytics or other analytic tools, and we DON'T have online ads, so we don't need any tracking cookies.


Data Security

We take reasonable steps to ensure that personal data is processed securely and treated in accordance with this policy. 

The technical and organizational measures to prevent unauthorized access to personal data include limiting team members' and sub-processors access to personal data in accordance with specific responsibilities and obligations, reducing the use of online third-party services to prevent the sharing of unwanted data, encryption of data where possible, the institution of security protocols, and team training.

Although we do our best to protect personal data, information transmitted over the internet remains vulnerable to interception – for this reason, the transmission of any personal data to our websites or via email to us is therefore at your own risk.


Your rights

  • The team member should respect confidentiality of client in all aspects

  • The team member should not ask any questions on identifiable characteristics of clients, such as name, address, phone number, or extended family member information, or any question that the client does not feel comfortable responding to

  • Team member uses only the name and pronouns given by the client themselves

  • Any follow-up sessions, if considered needed by the team member, should be conducted with the consent of the client

  • Recommendation to other providers for any high-risk issue should be with the agreement of the client

  • Team members do not take or keep any notes about the information that clients share during or after the sessions

  • Clients have the right to participate in sessions without sharing their video.
